2025 THE BUILDING & REMODELING INDUSTRY AWARDS OF EXCELLENCE - ENTRY GUIDELINES FOR BUILDERS

Presented by the Sales & Marketing Council, the Awards of Excellence honor the top achievers in the new home industry.
This prestigious awards program recognizes builders, developers, remodelers and associate members for their outstanding achievements in the fields of new home construction, remodeling, commercial building, interior design, architectural design and sales marketing.
ELIGIBILITY
Entries will be accepted from builder, remodeler and associate members in good standing with the Builders League of South Jersey (BLSJ) to be considered for any award. Communities entered in the Awards of Excellence must be located in Southern New Jersey and its neighboring states and have been offered for sale between October 1, 2024 and September 19, 2025.
DUPLICATE ENTRIES FROM PREVIOUS MAME AWARDS COMPETITIONS MAY BE RESUBMITTED!
STEPS TO ENTER
Carefully review all entry categories and judging criteria before preparing and submitting your entry forms and supporting materials through this online portal.
Materials required for all entries may differ by category. It is the responsibility of the entrant to ensure all required materials are submitted. Please include a title for the project or homeowner name and the town where the project is located where applicable.
- Entry Forms: Please complete all entry forms in the online portal.
- Identification of Entries: Make sure uploaded documents are named with correct entry category and Model/Address/Site as required.
- Submission Requirements: Different categories have different submission requirements make sure to carefully review the instructions and requirements for each category. Incomplete entries will not be judged.
- Digital Files: Please upload all supporting files (site plan, floor plan, photos, etc.) in the document folders in the online portal. Please ensure all digital files are high quality and in color when possible. All photos should be submitted as JPEG, PNG (minimum 300 DPI - 800w x 600h pixels) or PDF (hi-resolution) files. Any photos may be used by BLSJ for promotional purposes in the event your entry is a winner.
- Video Files: Videos can be uploaded to entries using liks - You MUST put the video in YouTube or Vimeo.
- Judging: Please note that judges only see the information you include on the entry forms and in the document folders. It is crucial that your entry meets all judging requirements so that your entry can be judged effectively.
- All entries MUST BE SUBMITTED through the online portal. No paper copies will be accepted.
- All materials submitted become the property of the BLSJ and will not be returned. Entry materials cannot be exchanged or modified after the final submission date.
INCOMPLETE ENTRIES ARE AUTOMATICALLY DISQUALIFIED
ENTRY FEES & PAYMENT METHOD
To enter your projects, select the number of entries you plan to submit per category and submit payment through the online portal.
Once payment has been processed, you will be assigned an entry number for each paid submission.
Members may submit as many entries as they wish in each category, and each entry requires an additional fee. Pay by VISA/MasterCard/AMEX/Discover. (Credit cards are the preferred payment for all entries).
All entries (fees and materials) must be received on or before midnight Friday, September 19, 2025.
- General Entry Fees: $75 per category
- Million Dollar Sales Club Entries: $50 per entry
- Individual Achievement Award Entries: $75 per entry
- Leasing Excellence Awards Entries: $75 per entry
- Community of the Year Entry - no fee
COMMUNITY OF THE YEAR ENTRIES
In order to be considered for Community of the Year Grand Awards, the candidate community must have at least one entry in each of the following categories: #140-152: Best Landscaping; #160-172: Best Signage; #180-185: Best Interior Merchandising; #190-204: Best Architectural Design. Entries in additional categories will be taken into consideration as tie-breakers for the grand awards.
*There is no additional cost for the Community of the Year entry.
JUDGING
Each entry will be judged on its merits by a panel of qualified judges who are recognized for their expertise in the homebuilding related industry. Builders, Realtors, architects, merchandisers, advertising and marketing experts from outside our market area and without conflict of interest will participate as judges.
Judges evaluate each entry on its own merit. In the event judges determine that an entry is not up to their standards for award recognition, no award will be presented in that category, even if only one entry is received. Conversely, if an entry is deemed award worthy, but does not fit a specific category, judges may elect to deisgnate it as an Awards of Excellence winner in a different category.
IN ALL INSTANCES, THE DECISIONS OF THE JUDGES ARE FINAL.
DEADLINES
- All General Entries (fees and materials) must be received no later than Friday, September 19, 2025.
- Million Dollar Club & Leasing Excellence Club Entries must be received no later than Friday, September 19, 2025.
- Awards of Excellence Sponsorship & Advertisements are due no later than Friday, October 17, 2025.
CANCELLATION POLICY
NO REFUNDS will be issued for entry fees or event tickets.
No exceptions.
